G Suite
Sinds vier jaar gebruiken wij in onze organisatie Google Apps for Education (of GAFE). Vandaag kregen we het bericht van Google dat hun Google Apps merknaam zal verdwijnen. Zowel Google Apps for Work en Google Apps for Education worden getransformeerd naar “G Suite”. Voor het onderwijs wordt dit dan wel “G Suite for Education” (GSFE dan maar?).
Dit is de officiële blog post:
“G Suite is a set of intelligent apps—Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Hangouts, and more—designed to bring people together, with real-time collaboration built in from the start. And there’s a lot more on the way. Because we believe that when organizations break down silos, connect people and empower them to work together, we get the speed, agility and impact needed to compete in today’s market.”
Het lijkt erop dat er niet veel zal veranderen voor Google for Education-gebruikers, maar de nieuwe merknaam zal in de komende dagen en weken worden bijgewerkt.
